Paulina Petkoski is the co-founder of Playground Detroit, a creative agency dedicated to developing opportunities for creative professionals and artists to strengthen and empower Detroit’s creative economy. The daughter of an entrepreneur, Petkoski always had the entrepreneurial spirit. After high school, she attended Polimoda International Institute of Design in Florence, Italy and Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in International Fashion Design. In 2012, Petkoski co-founded Playground Detroit with business partner Samantha Bankle Schefman while they both worked full-time design jobs in New York City. In 2014, she quit her job to return to Detroit and continue to focus on the company.

In 2015, Playground Detroit launched its ‘proof of concept’ space in Detroit to host exhibitions and programming attracting hundreds of attendees after many pop-up events and exhibits in New York City. As a three time Motor City Match winner, PLAYGROUND DETROIT have plans to open a commercial storefront in McDougall-Hunt along Gratiot Avenue set to open late 2017.
